I was put on Rigevidon to help my pms and OCD symptoms which worsened the week before and during my period. I was on this pill for a month only and had to stop because of the side effects; the first day I took it i vomited in the middle of the night and every time I took this pill i would feel some sort of nausea. It made my mood much worse, I was uncontrollably sobbing almost every day and would frequently get very annoyed and shout at my family. It also worsened my OCD a lot which was triggered by my mood. I felt a lot better coming off of it.

This pill was hell i had to stop taking it before it got too much for me. It helped my painful periods but the cons outweighed the pros. I gained a lot of weight no matter what i did i was always hungry. My breast got bigger however were always extremely tender. MY MOODS were so awful i was difficult to be around people didn’t want to talk to me as much as i was so easily irritated and negative all the time and it was affecting my relationship. I was always extremely upset and lethargic and cried throughout the day and got angry at the people i love for little things. I felt a bit nauseous and had a few headaches but not too bad. I absolutely would not recommend this pill to anyone, i know a few people who have taken it and i’ve never once heard of someone having a good experience with it so it saddens me that this is usually the go to first combined pill doctors recommend.

My mood changed at first to become very anxious. Then about a month in, I got severe mood swings, was angry, very irritable, and extremely depressed. I talked to my friends and two of them were on rigevidon and experiences the same debilitating mood changes. The only thing this helped with was my acne, but my self-esteem was actually better with a face full of spots than it ever was on this pill. There are studies on the difference between second generation combined pills like rigevidon, and third generation pills which show the huge difference they have on your mood. I would recommend asking your doctor about this if they recommend rigevidon, but unfortunately a lot of doctors don’t know about the common link with depression and mood swings, and still prescribe this as a standard. For some people I think it works, but I think it causes a lot of serious mood changes that go unreported in a lot of others
