I gained nearly a stone in weight on evorel sequi patches In 5 months i also suffered from bloating and extreme lack of energy in the 2nd half of the month I had suffered from none of these beforehand the patches did help with the hot sweats tremendously though but unfortunately it’s a lesser of two evils i stopped hrt 3 months ago the hot sweats have returned but the bloats all gone 🤷♀️

Taking estrogen patches has been hugely beneficial. My experience with progesterone has been horrific. Using Utrogestan 200mg vaginally for 10 days a month left me feeling suicidal for at least one week every month, my periods were much heavier and for three weeks every month I felt miserable only having one good week a month. The progesterone also gave me extra bowel movements and diarrhoea. It left me suffering extreme rage and after doing my own research, understood I now had a condition called PMDD which is extremely bad PMS. It was decided they were going to put in Marina coil. I’ve never had a child and the first time they put it in I screamed, spasmed,as they perforated my uterus, they had to take it out three weeks later, only after an ultrasound. Another year went by and they decided they were going to try the coil again, this time having me sedated and put under, while they put it in. I was always against this as it is clear. I am progesterone and intolerance, but I had nobody listen to me. This now makes me incredibly aroused every single day, like a teenager. It is very very uncomfortable, my breasts feel like watermelons, my nipples are like bullets they are so rigid and I have to wear a bra to bed for comfort, as even a T-shirt brushing against them is unpleasant. I have attended doctors on the NHS and also doctors privately, so-called menopause experts who have told me rot, like they have been guessing for the last ten years. I am very progesterone intolerant, now I am waiting for a hysterectomy. It is beyond shameful that Womens Health is treated so badly and being sent in for procedures, like getting a coil fitted with no painkillers, or aesthetic and told to take a couple of paracetamol beforehand is purely medieval. My hormone levels have never been tested, the best years of my life was on a combined.Yasmin and a 39 my doctor decided to take me off it as I was about a stone overweight, so nowhere near a beast and immediately put me on HRT, the last decade has been torture. There are soo many doctors and GPs out there without a clue and even when you pay privately, thinking you will get somewhere, you don’t.

I am 54 and towards end of perimenopause, my only way of knowing this is because I have had 2 periods in the last year. Around 47-50 I had symptoms of joint pain and severe depression, which I now realise was peri menopause( at the time GP treated individually) at 50 immediate insomnia, period every other month, hot sweats, low mood and started HRT oedtrogel pump X3 and utrogestan, I took it for 18 months, sweats stopped but low mood continued - I had no happy high even with oedtrogel increase, continued with period pain, severe itchy dry vulva and insomnia. decided that solving only 1 symptom didn't warrant staying on the HRT. I came off easily and flushes stayed away. over the span of year and a half , over span of year and half I went back to GP to focus on trying to manage severe vulva dryness and itching, change in labia shape and colour changes with no joy. I tried different topical estrogen vaginal creams, both increased a noticeable aggressive mood change. Then I gave up and found various alternatives for itchy vulva which intermittently help but still have to manage. now at 54 , hot flushes have come back during the night and new shock of finding sex painful so Google suggests vaginal atrophy- ooh happy days. It seems a continual quest just to feel okay is relentless. Currently thinking HRT again for osteoporosis but only when periods are clear of a year, the thought of a coil with vaginal atrophy makes me feel sick. In the meantime what does seem to work are supplements recommended by nutritionist for mood and mental calmness and sleep. I will ask GP to try different vaginal oesteigen to help vaginal atrophy. I will ride the hot flushes out. For the most part of my mid life has been managing symptoms.

Tibolone is a life saver, health recovering, confidence boosting and energetic. I told the GP I was progesterone intolerant, it makes me feel suicidal. She told me that doesn't happen in menopause. I tried her HRT with the supposed very low dose progestins, came close to killing myself. After trying three more with the same result, I refused to endure more of it. The GP said tough, if that's your attitude, no HRT for you. I pestered them until a locum gave me Tibolone to make me go away, it did, I'm still taking it and I've not been back in over a year to bother them!

My experience with Evorel Sequi over 8 months was that it made a very slight improvement to my brain fog and feeling slightly more like myself. The patch irritated my skin and hurt quite a lot. I continued to feel wiped out most of the time and anxious and low. I'm now trying a different HRT.
