Used for 9 months and at the start I really liked it kept my periods regular but I did notice they became longer. They lasted around 8 days long and became more heavy. Went on this pill to help with the heaviness and the pain but it didn’t help either. In the last 3 months of taking it I began getting random sharp pains that weren’t like cramps they were right at the enterence of the vagina and they became more and more regular to the point it was multiple times a day.

Helped my periods a lot, I could skip them which I liked. Went from lasting 8 days to 5, less painful and a lot lighter when they were usually very heavy. Did increase depression and anxiety, and I lost my sex drive almost completely/rarely got turned on. Made me eat more and I gained weight, and increased my vaginal discharge

I went on the pill when I was 15. I had been to the doctors with irregular periods, really awful cramps and blood clots to the point I was crippled over in pain and it was affecting my life. I was wanting advice on how to manage this and what could be done and the first thing they offered me was the pill. They told me I could go on it continuously with no breaks which would mean I wouldn’t have to have periods. Obviously being young this seemed amazing to me and I jumped at this suggestion despite my mums concerns. From the age of 15-16 I didn’t feel many symptoms I was just so happy, living life with no period worries. When I got to the older years of high school at 16-18 I really struggled with stress and anxiety. I felt small situations very overwhelming and I really believe the pill had an impact on this. I also believe the pill affected my maturity as I was not having periods. During this time I had really bad bacne which was completely over my back. It was so painful and made me really self conscious. There was a slow increase in weight and I felt my self always being hungry so it was hard to manage my weight. This also contributed to me being self conscious. When I got to my last year of school and my first year of university this is when I really started to feel the effects. I had really painful bloating, changes in my bowel movements and my acne was getting worse. I had a large weight gain and this was really affecting me overall. I had some breakthrough bleeding with brown/black thick discharge also. I knew my self that I wanted to come off the pill because it wasn’t working and I knew my own body but I was scared of what would happen as I had not had a period or normal cycle in years. I eventually decided to come off the pill at the start of second year of uni because I wanted to get in touch with my body and be more natural.
