Mercilon pill and spotting

I took this pill for two months, however, due to the bad skin eruption I had as a side effect, I decided to change it. My acne worsened within a week of starting taking this pill. I did not experience any other issue, other than some spotting in between periods and a couple of episodes of migraine during the pill break. Having PCOS and already acne-prone skin, I have been advised to swap from a pill containing Desogestrel to one with drospirenone.

Mercilon was the first pill I was put on as it is low dosage and I was worried about side effects. It was broadly fine for the first few weeks, except I noticed I was crying over seemingly little things. I decided to take it continuously and when my period would normally be due, I did get my period. Unfortunately it didn't stop for 3 weeks - until I got prescribed a different pill! I think this may have been because of the low dosage but it was quite unpleasant. Had cramps, but less bad than usual (I mainly went on the pill because of very painful cramps)

I’m on this website as I’m 3 months in taking this pill from being on Yasmin for years and I feel like I have PMT every day. I hardly had it at all before. My doctor said it is not possible to have this reaction so I’m reassured to see others actually have. I am so moody it’s horrible. I feel agitated and emotional - which is not me at all.
