Gedarel 20/150 pill and increased sex drive

I had terrible experiences (bouts of acne) around age 17/18 with higher dose pills like Yasmin. Eventually settled on Marvelon and was put onto Gedarel (higher dosage) when there were stock issues. After 2 years I moved to the lower dose of Gedarel, and had a relatively positive experience with it for around 5 years but things have worsened recently. Side effects have been; spots around chin around end of pill pack, some spotting when taking back-to-back, lower sex-drive. More significant side-effects have been water-retention/weight gain and boob size increase. I am now thinking about coming off Gedarel as I have noticed the side effects have become more dramatic and all other things are equal - my boobs change massively in size throughout the course of a pack of pills, they are tender, and my weight is also massively fluctuating (I assume from water retention - between 55 - 60kg within the month). I am very active and generally healthy, if anything I am less stressed and have a healthier lifestyle now than I did a few years ago, yet the frequent changes to my body are making me feel uncomfortable in my own skin.

This contraception made me cry all the time and made my moods incredibly low. As soon as I stopped taking it I instantly felt better and back to myself. Would not recommend!

I find this pill to be very good for me. Before starting it my skin was poor, my mood was worryingly low all the time, i was far to thin ect amd since starting im so much happier and i love only getting my period every 2+ months. The only downside is that previously to starting the pill my periods had not many side effects other that they were very irregular but now when I'm on the break from the pill and on my period i get womb cramps, back pack and just general period pain to a point i find sometimes agonising like seriously cannot cope till the point i feel like throwing up and no painkillers help. The period pains will last about 2/3 days which is just about bare able but im okay with it because i get alot of benefits from this pill.
