The POP is quite new to me having been on the Depo for a long time. I was on Lovima to begin with but then the pharmacy gave me this one on my next prescription to begin with things were as normal there didn’t seem much off a change until I started experiencing severe anxiety like I never have before. My heart was racing for no reason and I was in a constant anxious state. I felt like I was going crazy. I called the pharmacy as I was needing a new prescription but asked if I could try a different brand as this one was not agreeing with me and the pharmacist says it sounds more off a pill problem then a you problem which made me feel a lot better as I say I felt I was going crazy. I am now on a different brand off POP so swing how this goes.

I used to take the combined pill (I can't remember the brand) and started getting a lot of bad migraines and also felt very emotional at times. To the point where my then boyfriend missed going out with his friends a few times because I simply couldn't stop crying. I also had the same when I moved out of my parents house and in with my boyfriend...I bet my parents got the impression that I didn't want to move in with him! But at the time we didn't know that anything way wrong. Anyway, my doctor swapped me on to Cerelle approx 9 years ago now and I haven't regretted it. I will say that at times I have been given Cerazette, Cerelle and now seem to have Desogestrel all of the time (but I believe all 3 are much the same). My periods completely stopped on this pill after about 3 months which was a dream as they used to be very heavy and painful and my migraines and emotional outbursts also completely stopped. I can't comment on effectiveness against pregnancy and sex drive because I've not been able to have sex with my husband for about 8 years, but that is because I have spinal stenosis and really struggle. But I continue to stay on the pill so that my periods and extreme cramping remain at bay.

I have been on the pill since I was 14 (now 35), i didn’t suffer from problematic periods, I wanted it for contraception only. I got put on the mini pill from combined three years ago (roughly). I didn’t want to go on the mini pill but was given no other options, I was told it was this or nothing.
