My periods were only irregular/spotting for the first 4ish months while my body was adjusting to the hormones, after that my periods became regular again and lighter than before too. I also believe this mini pill has not effected my mood, breasts or weight.

I’ve been on this pill for 4 months now and all round it’s been good. It completely stopped my periods from the beginning and I’ve not experienced any bleeding since starting. It’s not affected my mood or anything like that which is always a bonus, in my opinion this pill isn’t for those who suffer with or have a past with acne. My skin had completely cleared up before I started this pill and I’ve been suffering breakouts since the start - so I’m switching to the combined pill instead. I’d definitely recommend this pill if you don’t have a past with acne but if you do, maybe look into other methods as it could make it worse.

I started this pill in February as I cannot take the combined pill. For the first few months all seemed well, my period stopped. I suddenly started to become very absorbed in negative thinking. I felt anxiety like I had never experienced before and felt so overwhelmed by situations that would not normally make me feel that way. I started feeling quite withdrawn and not enjoying my hobbies such as my mountain biking as much. Social situations would make me feel anxious before they had taken place. I came off the pill around september as additionally I had been getting repeated bouts of cystitis (triggered from sex) so wanted to try something none hormonal. I also found that after a few months of being desogestrel that my periods went all over the place and I would bleed every 2 weeks. I had an appointment to get a coil fitted but the sexual health clinic advised not to get it done whilst i was being investigated for recurrent cystitis. I spoke to my GP a few weeks back who told me if I had persevered with desogestrel, my periods would settle into a normal pattern. To be honest, I had been on it for over 6 months so I think thats a fair shot at being on it for a good amount of time. I started to take desogrestrel again 3 weeks ago to give it another shot.. over christmas I have been all over the place again. I have properly researched into how this pill can affect some peoples moods. This isnt for me, and I dont think I ever realised how it can impact the mood for some people. Unfortunately I am one of those that this doesnt work for.
