After being off this pill for 6 months I have seen an enormous improvement in my mood, weight and overall well-being. I gained 9kg on this pill! I’ve been the same weight for a very long time, so to gain 9kg in a few months seemed odd but it was shrugged off as an ‘age thing’ as I’m approaching 30. Yet as soon as I came off this pill I lost the weight. I in part put this down to the extreme bloating I experienced on this pill. Insane levels of water retention stopped me from being able to wear any of my clothes. Not to mention the constipation! This had a serious impact on my well-being, self image and consequently my sex drive. Retrospect is a wonderful thing. Just wish I’d tried coming off it sooner!

This pill is the DEVIL. I’ve tried many pills and this is the absolute worst. It starts off fine but somehow worsens the longer you are taking it?? Awful headaches, bleeding heavy enough to be using more than 3 sanitary towels per hour which lasts weeks. I was bleeding the majority of each month. The cramps were unbearable. Painful acne, THRUSH (which I never usually get), and caused me to have depression the worst I’ve ever experienced. As soon as I stopped taking, every symptom disappeared. I know everyone has different experiences on each contraceptive, but a pill that has the potential to cause all of this can’t be good for anyone. Please avoid for your own health.

Decided to try a traditional mini-pill just to see if I experienced fewer side effects than with other mini pills I've tried (I can't use the combined pill anymore due to high blood pressure). However, I only ended up staying on this pill for a month as it made me feel terrible! I got the first lot of bleeding (a light period) 2 weeks after starting it and then ended up having spotting on and off on random days after that. I had constant pms-type symptoms, feeling tearful all the time, tender breasts, back ache, headaches, spottier skin, irregular bleeding, stomach ache and random pains, and just generally feeling unwell. And then there was the nausea! This pill made me feel so sick pretty much every day, to the point where every time I would go out I would have to leave a shop and sit in the car because I felt like I was about to vomit all the time. I also noticed that the headaches and nausea were particularly bad a few days before/the day I would get random bleeding and it also made my anxiety worse due to feeling so sick all the time. I ended up going back to Cerelle as I have found this is the best mini pill for me.
