I first had an implant after my first baby & it was great. Stopped my periods & no other side effects. I then had it removed after 2.5 years to conceive again. I had the second implant in for 2 years following another pregnancy & have only recently put two & two together as to why I’ve been having real low moods, zero interest in a sex life & not loosing any weight despite exercising regularly & eating well. I’ve also had regular spotting this time round. It’s been a completely different experience to the first! I had it removed this week and I can’t wait to know what ‘me’ feels like!

I put on the implant at 17 until I was 20. The first few months were amazing. But I got crippling pain in my back and abdomen due to cramps. Constant periods which were heavy. I felt constantly tired and anxious but still unable to sleep. Got the first one removed and my doc recommended I put a fresh one in. I did and I had the worst cystic acne all over my body. Felt depressed and really had no sex drive. Got it removed and switched to the pill.
