Has been really helpful for my moods as i would get bad pms, i feel a lot more stable through the months. i gained a lot of weight at one point but then lost it. my boobs consistently got bigger, at certain times in the month they are very very tender. i had lost my sex drive for a few months when i first started but it then came back, but i was really not eager for anything for ages. It’s helped my back and chest acne, and my face is better but has flare ups. I get a period every 3 months but it lasts like 14 days but not that heavy.

I have been on 3 different pills 10 years ago of which the last one was a pill prescribed for acne, before I decided to switch to a non-hormonal IUD, which resulted into heavy-flow periods that looked like someone had stabbed me everytime I got my period. I never had a heavy flow period but the copper IUD definitely increased this. After 2 years, I switched to the hormonal IUD Mirena and no complaints except that my hormonal acne is still present. I actually lost weight and no more periods. I went to my Gyno to ask for a solution against my acne and she prescribed the Yasmin pill. I took it and stopped after 9 days because I got super lethargic, emotional and cried almost every day, I started getting cystic acne even though I never had any cystic acne before, but a few small pimples on my jawline & chin. My breast were tender and in pain, I felt nauseous and I got 4 headaches in 9 days. Generally I don't get 5 headaches, maybe a maximum of 3-5 per year and that's it and my breasts are tender & in pain only when I am on my period. Needless to say that, I was not willing to go through the 3-month period with these symptoms just to see if my acne can disappear. I feel like there is no miracle solution and that's the most difficult to accept. My dermatologist prescribed spironolactone for my acne, which apparently has similar effects than the pill in terms of acne, without all the side effects.

Worked really great for many years. Still had the ocassionally leg cramp, and my breast started to be really tender. After some years I got panic attacks and anxiety. Quit the pill in june 2023, still strugeling with panic and anxiety at times

Prescribed for pcos. I no longer have pelvic and abdominal pain :) and my mood is better as I do not have pms anymore, it helped my hormonal alopecia. I also notice my face looks different like it’s less chubby or puffy. The negatives are it gave me a phase of acne which eventually cleared and headaches, the first break I took on it was a really bad headache where I had to stay in a lot so I could be in dark to relieve the pain.

Initially I thought that Yacella was suiting me, I had no noticeable side effects, I was able to take it straight away and not have any nausea etc. It was only after a year I noticed how much thinner my hair had become since taking this pill and also had affected my hair texture (I have naturally curly hair and on this pill it was getting straighter). I decided to come off Yacella and since my hair has started to return to its natural texture and thickness. Ironically I went on Yacella as it’s meant to prevent hair loss, even encourage hair growth!

I have had a good experience with the Yacella/Yasmin pill - I think this is partially informed by better mental health and external factors because when I have been on the pill previously during a poor mental health period in my life I found it made me feel even more depressed. The only time I have experienced violent mood swings is when I took it without any breaks for 5 months, and then when I did take the break I was very emotional and irrational, so I now prefer to not go more than 2 months without taking a break.

I've been on Yacella for 4 months now. I got switched to Yacella due to issues with acne. I can say it cleared up my acne and made my skin look lovely and bright. However, the changes to my hormones really weren't worth it. Yacella has made me incredibly paranoid. I developed anxiety so bad that it effected my day to day life and my relationships. It also made me incredibly depressed, which also had a huge impact on my wellbeing. Due to the impact it has had on my mental health, I decided to stop taking it. It may work for some but losing my sanity for the sake of good skin was not worth it at all!

Been taking yacella for 6 months after not being on any contraception in years due to fears of side effects. Previously been on Loestrin 20 and Rigevidon both of which gave me horrible cystic acne and low mood. Dr recommended yacella as it has anti-androgenic progesterone and I have mild PCOS. So far it has been pretty good! I think my mood is unaffected, skin is great, sex drive unaffected. I have had some slight weight gain in more 'womanly' areas but nothing crazy. My breasts definitely have grown a lot and for the first few months they were quite sore but this has reduced to mild tenderness now. I do experience pain, especially lower back/pelvic, and am emotional during my 7 day break, however I suffered a lot with cramps prior to taking the pill so this is still an improvement for me. Would recommend, especially for anyone with hormonal imbalances like me.

I've been on yacella around six months and my skin is clear my boobs have gone up a cup size and I feel pretty damn good! My main issue is I'm hungry ALL the time. I have a really strong appetite that isn't quelled easily so has made me put on five pounds which makes me feel not myself. I'm hoping this will subside?

I was on Yacella years ago and came off as i was very anxious and felt very different in myself. I tried the depo and it had so many awful physical side affects. afters years to reflect on this i came to the conclusion that the previously mentioned anxiety and loss of self could’ve been environmental causes. I have gone back to yacella and couldn’t be happier, my skin has cleared up and is better than it’s ever been, my boobs have grown and with these hand in hand it have increased my mood because i feel a lot more confident in myself. my periods are very light and i haven’t had any negative change in my 3 months back on yacella - would definitely recommend to a friend
