Femodene ED pill vs Rigevidon

I started this pill as a stronger alternative to the previous contraceptive I was using (Marvelon), as I had been experiencing breakthrough bleeding. I also have pcos so was looking to mask my symptoms (heavy and irregular periods, PMDD, acne among others). I had nausea, continued breakthrough bleeds even with consistent use, vaginal dryness, and headaches. I ended up switching back to Marvelon after 4-5 months.

I changed from Lucette after being on that for around 4 years, my sex drive was low. Changed to Femodene which was meant to improve that and also help with acne which is what i also needed. My skin flared up massively, my sex drive didn’t change, my moods awful, i seemed to hate everything and everything and became very snappy with people. I started to dislike my job, and also created issues between my partner and I because of the mood I was in. I was fine on the first packet, had my week break and then started the second packet but went downhill from there.

For me personally, the pill is great for periods. I haven’t had a period while using it. However, I did have 1-2 weeks of very light breakthrough bleeding. I found the pill made me severely depressed and I had absolutely no energy. I felt like I was just existing and not living. I was crying everyday and thinking everyone hated me. It also made me lose all my confidence I took so long to gain (I had none). Since being off it for 3 days I’ve seen a huge difference in my energy and my mood is slowly getting better. It didn’t make me gain weight as such, but my stomach is usually flat and now it’s round and more bloated. I’m hoping this will go away. I’d say I’ve gained more fat on my stomach than weight. I essentially started crying almost every day and couldn't fully function like normal because of how low my mood was. I took it for bad period cramps and it definitely helped with this but had to get off it because of the effect on my mood

I was prescribed it as a treatment for possible endometriosis, yet i’ve been on the same period (no stopping) for three months now. It’s constant pain, constantly tired and it’s a never ending story. i just want help.

As a women with PCOS this pill has been great to help control acne & unwanted facial/body hair. However since taking the pill I have noticed far more vaginal discomfort e.g. thrush. Overall with this in mind I would still choose to take this pill and the positives for me outweigh the negatives

I have felt great on rigevidon, I was prescribed it for irregular and extra periods. This has fixed this and can now control when I do and don’t bleed. I did experience a decidual cast (uterine lining passes in one piece) when I went two months without taking a break. But as long as I have kept having a break monthly and not run packs back to back (like I was told I could) it has been fine and solved my issue.

I got this as it’s the same quantity of hormones as microgynon what I had taken before & that helped my acne. This one though the same ingredients has broken me out terribly, oilier skin/hair & I am sooo touchy I’m in such a bad mood. Also I’ve had so much spotting which I didn’t experience with microgynon I don’t understand how a different brand could affect you so differently can’t wait to change to another

Don't get this contraception if you want to keep your good mental health. It almost ruined my relationship, I turned into a complete monster. The short periods and the clear skin was nice but it really jeopardised my relationship and ruined my mental health. Coming off was the best thing I could've ever done for myself.

I started taking Regivedon combined pill in order to have periods as a peace of mind I wasn’t pregnant, as my mini pill I was taking (cerazette) stopped them. The first week was a massive rollercoaster of emotions and by the end of the week I was exhausted, but this was fairly normal (not usually this extreme) as my body has to adapt. Afterwards it was a general downward slope of mood swings with very negative episodes lasting longer and longer and eventually came off it after realising. I felt like a weight had come off. Everyone is different though, they say mini pill affects mood more but for me combined was hell! Pre warning though I have had past experience with very low mood and depression so I am probably more susceptible.

Was recommended the pill to help with my mental health, however it left me feeling miserable. have more mood swings and awful cramps daily. I would never recommend this option to anyone

The first week of taking this pill made me feel extremely nauseous and unwell to the point I couldn’t get out of bed. I gained 10kg in 5 months on this pill. It made my so hungry all the time. It did help my painful periods and made them more manageable but i was putting on weight at an uncontrollable pace so I had to stop this pill.
