I have been relying on the male condom since my 11 year old daughter was born. Works effectively for me but can dampen the mood during sex.

My partner is allergic to latex and Skyn produce the only non-latex condoms on the market. For me, they are smooth and feel great. They are more comfortable than latex and arguably feel even better than without a condom. However, for my partner, they feel fine for about 10-15 minutes before they start to produce a vacuum and squeeze down hard, causing him pain and obviously ruining the moment. We are not sure if this is a sizing issue or something else. There aren't any further size options or otherwise for us to try so we are limited to very uncomfortable safe sex for him, or using the withdrawal method instead which has its own problems.

I feel compelled to write here after watching Davina McCall's programme Pill Revolution, which didn't mention condoms once! Condoms are a good option if hormonal contraception isn't working for you, and a necessity if you and your partner are not monogamous or have not had a sexual health check up. Even my shittiest ex was ok with using condoms after I made a conscious decision to come off the Pill, so ladies, don't lower your expectations!

Opted for latex free. So easy to use, protects against STI, it’s a no brainer for me. Just as pleasurable

Hormone free, so your cycle isn't affected at all and they also protect against STIs. What's not to like? Guaranteed they can be uncomfortable but it takes a bit of trial and error with various brands and sizes as well as applying some water-based lubricant. I recommend the Glyde brand.

Moved away from the pill and onto condoms. Tried HANX as I'd only used mainstream brands historically, and found it much better. Their sizing is better, and it feels a lot more natural - I used to get way more irritation after sex with other brands, whereas now it feels like we're not using anything which is great. Happy to have moved away from hormonal contraceptives and won't go back.

Other condoms can give my thrush or cystitis so I assume I must have a mild latex allergy. These condoms are amazing they fit great and they feel like nothing, I hardly notice them at all. And 0 side effects! Just have to drain the purse a little bit instead
