The last 17 months I’ve been using the mini pill as my doctor persuaded me it was better. Today I begged her to put me back on this combined pill. I was on rigevidon for 12 years and I have never ever had a single issue. Moods were normal. Periods were normal and easy. Hair was healthy and thick! Skin was amazing. The mini pill messed up all of that for me. I now have thin hair and acne and bleeding even when taking it. I love rigevidon and it really did wonders for me. I can’t wait to be back on it and say goodbye to the mini pill.

In terms of being a contraceptive, it definitely does the job if you take it properly. The first couple of months I experienced little side effects if any, but then afterwards I always had horrible mood swings during my break week, and during the days of taking the pill I often felt not myself, irritable and tearful for no reason. It increased my anxiety a lot and I felt down a lot of the time. I took the pill packs back-to-back occasionally (without a break week) but still had breakthrough bleeding, which would last more than a week. Overall not a positive experience, and it is worthy to note this pill is often the first one prescribed when you decide to go on the pill because it is a cheaper one to roll out. I recommend doing some research first and requesting one that sounds like it would suit you best.

Was fine the first few months of being on it but quickly changed and was awful. I’ve tried a lot of contraceptions and this is one of the worst. While it helped regulate my periods it made them so heavy I was bleeding through super tampons and pads and my cramps got so bad I was throwing up. The moods was the worst part I was so depressed and angry all the time I was always losing my temper or crying and there was no in between. As soon as I came off it I instantly felt better.

This was the first contraceptive I’d ever tried. I was 15 and suffered with extremely heavy and painful periods. Although this pill did help with this a lot, it caused me to have awful mood swings. I’d constantly cry and feel depressed it took me so long to figure out why this was happening until I realised it was this pill. As soon as I changed to gederal 20/150 the mood swings stopped. If you’re a teen thinking about using contraception please read up on all the possible side affects.

Been using for 2 years after being moved off of a terrible mini pill. My periods are so much better now and arrive every 4 weeks on the dot, they’re really light and last 5 days now instead of 7/8. It has also totally cleaned up my acne and I get little to no spots whatsoever. My boobs have grown a cup size or two which I don’t mind. Negatives would be mental health as I feel generally a lot sadder and teary with a lack of emotional control. I also have less of a sex drive which doesn’t really bother me as it used to be too high, however it can make sex painful. Overall great pill will keep using for a long while

The first side effect I noticed was feeling nauseous most days. Whilst on this pill I experienced recurring uti’s and wasn’t sure what was causing it, but once I stopped taking it, the infection cleared up.

This was the first pill I ever started with I liked this pill however started getting headaches so had to change. I reckon if I had tried to stay on it longer they may have stopped. I did however get nausea in the first few weeks but this stopped. In comparison it was the best one I found for moods. I’ve also tried Millinette 20/75 and Gederal which I highly wouldn’t recommend for your mood

Made me so depressed to the point that I was unable to function and carry out daily activities. I have never felt so low in my life. Also gave me terrible headaches.

I have been on Rigevidon for a fair few years now and I can honestly rate it "not too bad". It struck me when I first started on it how much my sex drive decreased - it has taken a long time for it to come back, and it's still definitely not where it was without hormonal contraception. That and the weight gain (I have gone up two sizes since starting it) are the definite "cons". However, it is not all bad. I like that my periods are very short and light (3 days max), and I like that I can skip them when I want by taking packs back to back, meaning I can enjoy my seaside holidays without bleeding. My skin has definitely improved, it is glistening now and I used to suffer from dry skin and dermatitis, that is completely gone. I do get headaches from time to time but they are less strong and piercing than those I used to get without the pill. Overall I feel my hormone levels are better managed on the pill - I don't get mood swings, I don't suffer from PMS or any period-related annoyance, no cramps, and it's easy to maintain as it's ok to take it within 12 hours of the "usual time", meaning that it's difficult to forget. I know however as I get older and overweight I should consider another option, but I tried the hormonal coil and that was horrid, so I went straight back on to Rigevidon. I would be open to switching type of pill, however I have to say the side effects get so much better after time, and I don't want to risk resetting all of that.

I took this pill from the age of 15-23 for prevention of heavy, painful and irregular periods. I had light and regular withdrawal bleeds and only two occasions of breakthrough bleeding during those 8 years. It eased my acne and spots an incredible amount. The down sides - I developed OCD and depression soon after taking the pill & am now medicated for this. I gained 4 stone in weight and was recently diagnosed with borderline hypothyroidism, thought to be influenced by long-term pill use. My libido decreased massively and I would develop thrush monthly. Overall, it works well for regulating periods, but can have so many negative impacts, so it’s worth looking at others before settling with the pill! X

Don’t keep it on the DL.Put it on the LD.
