I was prescribed this following the birth of my second child at 7 weeks pp. It seemed like a good option because taking a pill every day was difficult for me and it was discreet and easy to remove when we wanted to conceive again. I very quickly noticed a drop in supply of my breastmilk - I did contact the GP who told me this wasn’t related because I was more than 6 weeks post partum. I also rarely get spots or skin problems but I saw a large increase in spots around my chin and face. When I stopped using the patch my milk supply jumped back up almost immediately.

Was great for the first 6 months+ but then the last two weeks I've experienced itchy skin and burn red marks where the patch was - having to go back to the pill sadly. Before this would have rated 5/5. The mark it's left is so sore and feels like a burn and is scabbing up badly.

My overall experience was good and I don’t suffer from any major side effects. This method worked well for me

I’ve been using the evra patch for around 7 months now and love it! My mood has drastically improved and feel so much happier day to day. At first I noticed light nausea in the evenings, but this wore off over time. In the first 3 months I noticed a light rash around my chin and cheeks that would wear off on my patch free week then come back but that had since disappeared. I don’t think I’ve put on weight since starting however I have noticed an increase in cup size. My periods have been lighter, shorter and so regular. It’s so practical and very discreet, could not recommend enough!

Honestly, it wasn’t bad while I was on it, I had pretty bad pain during periods but day-to-day felt pretty normal. Only after I came off of it did I realise I had gained over 10kgs and could literally feel my mental health improve within weeks.

I liked the idea of using the evra patch and it definitely improved my skin but it just wasn't for me ultimately. I had severe nausea/vomiting for the first three months. This gradually got better but I still experienced nausea occasionally. Period like cramps were very bad at first but eased. I had to stop using as I experienced two incidents of visual disturbance that caused concern.

Helped a lot generally, my moods weren't stable and my periods came about once every 4-6 months and my skin felt incurable but being on the patch has helped ease all my previous symptoms

Since starting this contraceptive I've experience lumpier swollen breasts which has made me slightly nervous, although in general it's a sure contraceptive method and has been I think better for my moods. I've now been refferred to get a breast scan in a few weeks for a lump that's only v recently developed and been looked into because of the severe tenderness, constant sore feeling on my boobs.

The patch was great and worked exactly how I wanted it to until it didn’t. After over two years on the patch I began getting breakthrough bleeding constantly regardless of when I’d last had a break.
