Been on this pill nearly 10 years, much better than other options I've tried (rigevedon and progesterone only). Doesn't seem to have any side effects however I've been on it so long it would be hard to know what's the pill/just me now.

Took microgynon 30 for around 4 years and had no side effects - everything seemed fine. I came off it as no longer wanted to use contraception and again, everything was fine. Around 6 months later I started taking this again however the side effects were more severe this time. The most severe was the impact on my mood/emotions. I would be really low for months and months with no explanation and cry out of nowhere. It really didn’t suit me the second time around and ended up looking into other methods of contraception instead of hormonal because of the effect it had.

This is the first pill I’m taking, and so far (9 months) has been good. My periods are almost non-existent, which really improved my quality of life.

I took microgynon for over 6 months and it was fab at first but then got really odd mood swings and never felt anything - mood was always dull and not excited for anything. I also got thrush so often it was awful :(

I felt it affected my mood and my body - my appetite went through the roof! And i felt constantly bloated and had a puffy face, constant hunger, stressed, anxious... Switched back to the ring, which has been better for me :-)

this is the first pill I've taken. I honestly didn't experience many side effects and am very happy with it. maybe slight weight gain but I don't know if its the pill or not. I am only trying different brands now because this pill causes me vaginal itching and burning, like thrush but not actual thrush. it makes sex uncomfortable and it's very annoying. but other than that I had a great experience with it.

I had moved off a different pill which cleared my skin and was recommended this by my GP. Microgynon gave me the worst acne I have ever had. I also felt very anxious whilst taking this pill

Feel great on it and never really had any major side effects from it. Been on it since I was 17 and have no reason to change

Was on the combined pill (Ovranette and Microgynon) for about 15 years and didn't have any major side effects while using it. Occasionally experienced migraines while on the week's break. No sex drive. Loved being able to take the packets back to back to avoid having a breakthrough bleed. Unfortunately for the last year of taking it I started getting regular spotting/bleeding and after numerous investigations with no results, was recommended to stop taking the pill which I did and moved onto other methods of contraception.

Honestly I had noticed 0 side effects from this pill until one day when I tied my hair back and realised how thin it became upon investigation via looking back at photos I found out it all stemmed from starting this pill which has seemingly triggered androgenic alopecia aka female pattern balding. Obviously this side effect doesn't happen to most but I just wish I was aware of this before I got prescribed it and started using it.
