Lovima pill

Lloyds Pharmacy gave me no warning when they changed my Crescent generic version of Desogestrel for Lovima. My fatigue is awful, acne (it's like reexperiencing puberty), very tender breasts prior to my period, and suddenly anxiety that has gone through the roof for no real reason. My sex drive had already suffered on Desogestrel, I need the mini pill due to migraines so not sure will I necessarily be able to tackle this, but so far I have just as low libido on Lovima. For the first time in a long time I've had period cramps, but minus any spotting or bleeding. On the plus side, perhaps no signs of weight change. Desperately trying to get a new prescription.

Lovima pill

First few weeks were lovely, no noticeable side effects. Then came the breakthrough bleeding which didn't stop for months on end and still continues to this day at a minimal level. Couldn't fault this pill otherwise but the breakthrough bleeding is a major inconvenience and almost defeats the point of being on a form of BC. Breasts became slightly more enlarged and occasional lower back pains. I just wasn't one of the lucky ones for which bleeding stops completely. Periods are much lighter though but more drawn out. My usual 4-5 days are now 7-9 and that's not counting the daily spotting. It's been good as a temporary measure but I'll be glad to be off Lovima when the time is right because predictable periods >>> unpredictable spotting.

Lovima pill

Lovima has essentially stopped my periods, with rare spotting for 1-2 days (hardly requires a pantyliner), but mostly these only come if I have been late taking a pill (less than 12 hours late but more than 6ish hours late). My mood is definitely slightly better, I noticed it especially after > 6 months. Less side effects than a combined pill so honestly would recommend.

Lovima pill

I have found that the mini pill just doesn’t work for me. I’ve been on it 3-4 months and I thought by now I’d be used to it. I have been pretty much non-stop bleeding/spotting for around 2 months now and my mood has been awful. I am in the process of changing to the copper IUD as I’ve seen better reviews for this. Only positive I’ve found is that it covers me for 12 hours so if I miss one I just take it again when I remember

Lovima pill

For the first 2 weeks this pill seemed to have no side effects apart from the odd cramp. During the 3rd week i was feeling very hormonal and felt nauseous. I completed pregnancy tests as i thought this felt like early pregnancy symptoms - negative. I rode it out for a couple more weeks but felt like the constant nausea was causing me anxiety and affecting work so had to stop. Breasts were sore and enlarged but this got better after the 3rd week. I would have liked to continue this pill if it wasn't for the nausea and anxiety.

Lovima pill

Prior to using this pill I was on another brand if mini pill with no side-effects. The pharmacy decided to change the brand without warning, like they were changing a brand of sweets. I've steadily gained a lot of weight over 8 months. I'm a very active person & so the weight makes me look bloated & thick, mainly settling on my stomach, boobs & backside. I've also had some major mood swings, particularly with anxiety, which I've only just attributed to this pill. Plus side is I've had no periods & no issues with my sex drive. I will be coming off this pill & chatting with my nurse about alternatives.

Lovima pill

Was recommended this form of contraception by GP and started it on 1st day of period and bled for 18 days but have not had anything since but only been on it for 2 months. Skin feels drier but that could be age, but worth mentioning just in case.
