I went on this pill because I get migraines with aura, so can’t have the combined pill any more after being on Microgynon for years and having no major issues. I had some headaches to start with on this pill while I got used to it. Cerazette was okay, it stopped my period for the most part (got a v light period with intense cramps every 4 months or so), and it didn’t affect my sex drive. However my boobs hurt every month and periodically, despite not getting a period. My nipples literally felt like razors!! And the vaginal dryness was not fun. I’ve been lucky that I’ve never had bad skin but it was really greasy when I started Cerazette and I noticed more hormonal spots around my chin that wouldn’t ever really go. I definitely feel like I was bloated a lot more and noticed some weight gain but this could have been down to my lifestyle at the time - was going out and not always looking after myself in terms of what I ate and drank. I’ve always suffered from brain fog (thanks ADHD and depression), so it’s hard to say if Cerazette also had an affect on this, but I definitely had mood swings for the first few months of being on this pill. The highs were high and the lows were low for 3-4 months.

Tried this help with pre menstrual mood. I tried to stick with it because my doctor said that it make take a while to settle/get used to. It did help make me more chilled, but the irregular bleeding / spotting and headaches meant the benefits didn't outweigh enough for me to continue to use it.

I had to switch from my combined pill due to risk of breast cancer and stroke. I loved my previous pill but this one I've had such negative experiences, so anxious and depressed and angry, as well as random bleeding and making my work and home life difficult to cope with. I will not be taking this pill beyond the 3 months prescribed

Only been on this for 2 months to may make an updated review after longer time. But I was on the Evra patch for about 2 years, I loved it until the end as I got very teary all the time, had no sex drive and when I went on holiday the patch kept sweating off. My skin was always fine on contraception though and didn’t notice any weight gain. With cerelle for the 1st month I had a period as normal, my 2nd month I’ve had no period. I still have a low sex drive (which I had on the patch too) so maybe it’s an outside factor, haven’t noticed any major weight gain, skin is still fine. I’m still teary but I guess I’m just a depressed gal rather than contraception affecting me. Haven’t noticed any change to my boobs. On the patch I was very dry all the time which made sex not fun, on Cerelle I feel like I have more discharge which isn’t too much of a bad thing.

Initially I really enjoyed having no period at all. I then noticed I was having regular weekly mood swings becoming irritable, angry and emotional for no reason. My breasts also got bigger and I struggle with large breasts anyway which I struggled with a lot.

This pill has been amazing for me! It has completely stopped my periods and I have no side effects whatsoever. Cerelle has actually had a positive impact on my mood and also cleared up my hormonal acne. The only negative thing I've experienced with Cerelle is that I bled every day for the first month of starting it. I recommend anyone who is having issues with the combined pill to try the progesterone only pill, as I also can not tolerate oestrogen, and had terrible side effects from the combined pill.

I’ve had no issues with this pill until recently. Been on it for 4-5 years now after previously being on the combined pill for 9 years. Over the last two months I’ve been having period cramps and bleeding at the same time each month. I have never bleed on this pill until recently and I have never spotted on this pill or previously on the combined pill.

I started taking the pill after having my daughter as I was breast feeding. I felt quite emotional and very up and down but I put it down to having a new baby. After 2 years I started spotting all the time. And then I noticed other things such as no sex drive at all, feeling low, irritable, angry. After reading other comments I wondered if it could be the pill that was causing me to feel this way. I came off the pill and within weeks I felt like me again!

I started taking the pop pill in when i was 18 feb 2022. The first few 3-5 months were completely fine and my boobs went up a size which was nice, however this past year since as long as i can remember, the experience has gone completely downhill and i absolutely cannot stand being on the pill any longer. i now suffer with increased anxiety, frequent low moods, i'm numb, i'm extremely easily irritated and triggered by things my partner does and my sex drive is practically non-existent which is odd for a 20 year old. i struggle i stay happy and im increasingly sensitive and emotional which is not like me at all. i have genuinely forgotten what normal feels like. this pill has made me feel so turbulent with so many mood swings that i no longer want any birth control with hormones in whatsoever, and the options for this are absolutely rubbish! lastly, i wanted to say that i haven't experienced any weight gain, skin or hair problems and my boobs have gone back to their normal size after the first 3 months where they appeared bigger. My true advice would truly be to try some other hormone free method first (copper iud, diaphragm) to avoid putting this rubbish into your body, i feel like there is such a long list of cons for the pill and the only pro is not getting pregnant, which im not even sure if it balances out how the pill has made me feel this year.

I wanted to leave a review for other 45+ women just starting with progesterone only mini pill. My friends recommended it as it had stopped their periods immediately. I fell into the other category and bled\spotted almost continuously for two months. There is no warning that your period will start so I would recommend carrying protection all the time. The blood is brown and stringy or watery red but not heavy and can be managed with a panty liner. My mood improved and I found I was coping with situations more rationally. I spoke to other women on cerelle who told me to persevere and the spotting is definitely getting less frequent. My GP has finally given me an appointment for the Mirena Coil to be fitted next week, I have waited 10 months for this and I am now worried that I will go back to the beginning of the bleeding. Oh its really c**p being a woman!

Initially, this caused so much spotting and periods that lasted from days to a number of weeks that it meant I couldn’t have sex anyway. Having said this, I didn’t want to. My breasts were so sore. Once the periods reduced (slightly), I found myself having unbearable anxiety, mood swings, thrush and eventually had to stop taking this without much warning as symptoms were uncontrollable. It made me doubt my judgement and thoughts, I was never sure if my feelings were valid or if my moods were so unstable that it was causing me to overthink everything.
