I loved having Nexplanon. Light periods for 6 months then stopped having periods entirely. My periods didn't return for a year after I had it removed, though. No side effects other than acne & weight gain. I lost all that acne & weight as soon as it was removed.

I did not have periods for a year following my removal. I dropped all the weight I'd gained within 3 months of removal, and my acne cleared up almost instantly.

Hi, how is the bleeding for you now? I've been on zelleta since October and never had any bleeding until Christmas. I have been having light bleeding everyday for 3 weeks now. Did your bleeding stop? Have things settled?

I’ve been on cerezette for several years and had no bleeding at all. About 4 months ago I switched to Zelleta, and ive experienced light bleeding and bloating. I’m beginning to think that the two brands may be slighlty different? I never experienced bloating, bleeding or cramping whilst on cerezette, it only started when i switched to Zelleta.

Nexplanon negatively affected my mood and periods. I bled/spotted for a year straight. Sometimes it was like a period, other times it would slow down to become brown spotting for days on end. When I did get it removed, my flesh had tried to absorb it? They had a difficult time removing it, and were digging around in my arm for a while. Though it was impanted where it should be, it had embedded itself deep into my arm within the year. No thanks.

i honestly wouldn’t recommend this, he first 3 months being on this birth control i had no period and began for months on end after that. Couldn’t predict my period at all so a lot of ruined underwear. Than sometimes it’ll some for 2-3 days and i would start bleed all over again. I got broken up with 2 weeks after having this and when i tell i was so emotional more than usual. Lastly i had the worse appetite while on this birth control. i weighed 129lb before nexapolan now i weigh 111lb and during that period of time i was not active.

I wish I had known side effects sooner! I wish I could sue for pain and suffering. Going on 2 years of vagina, itchiness and dryness. Never knew these were potential side effects and I always thought some other was wrong with me turns out it was the birth control.

This is my first time on birth control, highly recommend it but definitely take the aide effects serious and prepare for it, I didn’t think a lot of it would effect me until I got the implant! And while I love it, I wish I had given myself a lot more knowledge before doubting the changes to my body.

The only thing I liked about the implant was how relatively painless getting it inserted and removed was compared to an IUD. Other than that, my almost two year experience with this birth control was terrible. I had two periods a month and had to go on birth control pills on top of the implant to help with the irregular bleeding. My libido completely vanished and I was constantly irritated especially toward my poor undeserving husband. I didn’t realize how much this thing had affected my marriage until I got off of it. He noticed a change in my mood the same week I got off of it. The implant practically made me abstinent rendering it useless to even have. It made me feel like intimacy was a chore. I would never get it again. I regret not taking it out sooner.

I am a man (this site needs to get with the times and stop calling uterus and vagina care "womens health") on testosterone so im not sure if the acne and weight changes are due to the testosterone or the implant. same with periods - the implant stopped my periods but im sure T helped. I get cramps somewhat randomly, especially around the time I'm meant to remove and replace the implant (5 years). I like that it keeps me from getting pregnant and does not contain estrogen since again I am a man.
