I first went on this bc for heavy periods that gave me awful cramps (would throw up and almost pass out). I’ve always had overall regular periods, this did not change on the pill. My periods did get soo much better (lighter and only 2-3 days, maybe spotting on day 4) and the cramps were so faint, I didn’t have to take any ibuprofen or Tylenol. I was on the pill for 6 months and 3 weeks. I do feel like it heightened my emotions at times (anxious and sad) which is one reason I took a break because I had a lot going on at the time and didn’t want to deal with that (graduation, relationship problems, worried about finding a job). I’ve never really had much acne, maybe a pimple or two around my period, but I do have bacne which completely went away on the pill. I did feel bloated around 5 months on the pill, and water retention maybe, because starting the pill I was 124 pounds and at month 6-7 before I stopped it was like 129-131. This could be stress and holiday foods too though I’m just not sure. Although I wasn’t having sex during this time (we were waiting till marriage) my libido was about the same, maybe even higher. But I wouldn’t know about dryness down there or in there, I could still get like wet not trying to be tmi… but overall I would say it’s pretty good. I may end up trying it again when I’m married. Bc is so personal, my experience may be completely different, you just have to try it :) best of wishes and I hope this was helpful! - JoAnna

Well I stopped this pill February 24th 2023 (started August 2nd 2022) and it is now early November 2023 (in all I was 6 months and 3 weeks on the pill). My weight still fluctuates through out my cycle (129-131) so weight has not really changed since the pill. My bloating is still there, again changes with my cycle. Sadly my bacne is back and that part does suck, face acne is still the same which is maybe a pimple or two close to my period. Libido is the same, I’m kinda always in the mood. My period came exactly one month after I stopped the pill and has been regular ever since. I never had any breakthrough bleeding (never had this when on the pill either which was a positive). My cramps are a little bit better but I have noticed them slowly getting bad again. My periods are shorter now, about 3-4 days of actual bleeding not spotting so that’s good. My mood did improve after the pill a little bit, I still get emotional and anxious though that’s just me… and I still get pms every month (anxious, sad and emotional, irritable, bloating). Hope all this info helps lol

I’ve heard this birth control is supposed to be helpful for acne, but I have been flushed since I started taking it and seen a couple breakouts, and I haven’t even finished my first pack yet. I have also been sweating profusely off and on since the second week of taking it. Those are the most significant side effects I’ve noticed. I did just have my Mirena IUD removed after my uterus tried to absorb it, so these effects could be related to that. I’ve been on many different birth control pills over the past 15 years and usually I have no side effects after the first month or two, so we’ll see.

It is not bad. The bad thing about it is it did make me gain weight and made my boobs go from a C to a DD and it kind of hurts my back. I gained like 10-15 lbs and I am unable to lose it no matter what diets I do. My skin has cleared up and my hair isn’t as oily and my periods have stopped which is really nice though.

I had severe anxiety on this pill, and also all of the sudden got motion sick all the time. I was nauseous everyday and lost weight because I couldn't eat. It did definitely help with acne and my previously irregular periods. However, I lost 20 pounds and had to eventually stop. Within a week of stopping, my mood returned to normal and I wasn't panicking all the time. Within a few months, however, my acne got way worse and I started getting cystic acne along my jawline. I also still suddenly get motion sick sometimes, and this isn't something I ever had before.

I’ve tried the shot, the ring, different pills, this is the one. Weight gain was an important factor as was acne. I have not gained weight and have had only an occasional acne bump likely due to another cause. For birth control, just make sure you take the pill daily at the same time. I no longer experience mood swings or pms in anyway. I also do not have periods bc with my doctor’s approval, I take the pill straight through each month due to endometriosis.

Began experiencing yeast infections almost immediately after beginning medications, even though I’ve had zero history of yeast infections in the past. Also experienced increase vaginal dryness with painful intercourse. Last but not least, I feel like my depression has been worse.

So far, I have not had the great experience. I keep spotting a lot after my period ended and seems like it’s never ending so far no cramping, but never experienced this before.

Headaches when using placebo pills. Improved when taken continuously but then had weeks of spotting. Thighs noticeably bigger. Weight increase 2-3 pounds over 3 months. Previously on Yaz in my late 20s and early 30s - loved it. This one did not work for me in my mid 40s
