Depo Provera stopped my periods completely. After being on it for more than a year, I can’t fit into my favorite belt that I easily could a year ago. Mind you, last year I was more sedentary — this year I’ve been training for 5Ks. That’s how much weight I’ve gained on Depo.

I think this is a great birth control method if you have absolutely 0 other options, but it DESTROYED my sex drive and made sex painful because I was no longer getting as much lubrication as I used to. I also gained a good bit of weight and retained a lot of water.
