ThinkCBT reviews
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a form of treatment which has been shown to be effective for many conditions. CBT focuses on challenging a person's thoughts, beliefs and attitudes which may not be helping them and focuses on helping the person to change those behaviours. CBT aims to teach people personal coping strategies which help to solve their current problems, as well as improve longer-term emotional regulation. CBT has been shown to help people with long-term conditions rooted in childhood experiences, as well as short-term problems triggered by recent situations or life events.
CBT can be guided (with a therapist) or self-guided (through a programme). ThinkCBT offers therapist-supported CBT, and usually, the treatment course will be 6-8 sessions. This involves setting a goal with a therapist that you get along with and then working through sessions focusing on improving thoughts and behaviours which relate to that specific goal. With ThinkCBT, you will have a free assessment call. If they do not think CBT is right for you at this time, they will say on this call.
