There are two types of morning after pill, each containing different types of the hormone progestogen. You can either choose a generic morning after pill or ellaOne, which contains a different type of progestogen.
Remember, the morning after pill is not effective if taken AFTER ovulation (release of an egg). If ovulation has occurred, you can have a copper coil (IUD) fitted as emergency contraception up to 5 days after unprotected sex. Find out more about your emergency contraception options.
