Trisequens reviews

Trisequens is a tablet form of HRT that will usually induce a bleed every month. The hormone levels change 3 times within each packet of tablets. First, you take 12 blue tablets which contain oestrogen only. Then 10 white tablets which contain both oestrogen and the progestogen norethisterone (which is a common progestogen). The packets finish with 6 red tablets, which contain just oestrogen, and you will usually expect to have your bleed during the red tablets. The packets are taken back to back without a break. After staying on Trisequens for 1-2 years, you should be switched to a continuous regime where the progesterone hormone is taken every day, rather than for half the cycle.

Method
Cyclical
Cyclical HRT is where you take breaks from the progesterone part of HRT, usually each month. You will usually have a withdrawal bleed around the time the progesterone has stopped. Some methods of HRT have this break built in already.
Combined (oestrogen and progesterone)
Oestrogen is the main component of HRT. If you have a uterus you should use HRT which also contains progesterone, or alongside progesterone to protect the womb lining (endometrium) from overgrowing as this can increase the risk of endometrial cancer.
