Evorel Conti is a really popular patch which is used after your periods have stopped for 12 months, as it aims to prevent further bleeds. It contains both oestrogen and a synthetic progesterone in a balanced ratio to relieve perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms alongside protecting your womb lining. You use the same patch and change it twice weekly. Users like the convenience of having both hormones in one patch. Doses can be increased or decreased after discussing with your healthcare professional by cutting the patches in half along the diagonal of the patch. Patches should be worn below the waist and away from breast tissue. Patches can be worn in the shower or bath or for swimming.

Method

Continuous HRT is where you take the same dose of both oestrogen and progesterone every day. It is used when your periods have stopped or when you have used cyclical HRT for more than 1 year. The aim of continuous HRT is to prevent bleeding.
Oestrogen is the main component of HRT. If you have a uterus you should use HRT which also contains progesterone, or alongside progesterone to protect the womb lining (endometrium) from overgrowing as this can increase the risk of endometrial cancer.

Having had a hysterectomy when I was 26. I thought my hormones would of been addressed by the NHS sooner than when I got to be in my 50s. By this point I'd gone from a happy, sharp, sexually active lady into a shell of myself who can honestly say I have not one bit of interest in the opposite sex. I'm tired all the time, Forgetful, my body aches. There is no help for the GPS, as none of them think these are medical issues. It's about time womens testosterone levels along with other hormone levels are checked routinely. Can't see this happening anytime soon. Us older ladies need help to feel alive again.

I started on Evorel Sequei, this suited me but my GP said I should change to Evorel Conti and POP contraceptive. Since I started this regime I have had regular periods. It has only been three months so I am persevering. I have irritability and anxiety, but only when I am on a period. I am a nurse and I know that many woman have a horrible time, so I don’t want to change even though it’s not perfect.

Challenging with bleeding despite being in chemical menopause and on GNRH analog Zolodex injections. The add back HRT still triggered bleeding which has been frustrating.

I started HRT late on in my menopause because of mood swings feeling low. It helped with this but after my periods having stopped for 2 years they started up again almost continually while on the HRT so I stopped using

I have tried every type of HRT - combined patch & tablets which resulted in very painful breasts. 3 different types of patches only, gel only where I had a severe reaction within a couple of hours & spray where I had a severe reaction within a few hours - alll caused severe skin irritation so I have been advised I can longer have HRT.

HRT has made a huge difference in my experience. I was really struggling with anxiety, irritability, loss of confidence, brain fog and exhaustion. I feel so much better now I’m on HRT.

Very positive and wish I had started using earlier. The effects are becoming less apparent though and I plan to review the current dose with my GP.

My experience was poor, patches were itchy and I felt bloated, at my 3 month review my BP was very high. It was normal prior to going on HRT. I came off it straight away, I am now on BP tablets to get it back down. I am still struggling with night sweats, and the occasional hot flush
