Took at night before bed, not much nausea. Definitely noticable breast pain with use, albeit not too sore. Periods shorter. Acne used to clear after period but now I'm always a bit spotty throughout

Initially when I started using microlite i didn't have any side effects and it regulated my previously irregular and long cycle. After about 8 months of use, I started having mental health symptoms and periods which lasted up to 3 weeks. I was v anxious and things which previously made me happy, seeing my friends, hobbies, sport etc didn't make me happy anymore. The doctor told me the dose of hormones was too weak to "override" my natural hormones and that that's why I was bleeding so much. She switched me to ovreena which was much better and all my symptoms subsided.

Although this was promoted to me as the lowest dose hormonal contraceptive pill it still had very real side effects which I disregarded for quite a while. The hormonal effect was enough to lighten my periods and acne, increase my breast size and appetite (and thus, weight) and so it also caused me years of intense progesterone-related fatigue and dulled my mood negatively. I know others who liked it and were happy with the more 'positive' side effects but worth being conscious of the hormonal effect even with a low dose pill
