This pill has been a lifesaver. I've tried lots of different combined pills and all were giving me problems with varicose veins. My doctor recommended going on the mini pill which was even worse. I eventually got put on Mercilon as it's low estrogen. My periods are lighter and shorter, my skin has cleared up and my mood has been fine. Only negative side effect is loss of sex drive.

I used this for quite a while and to be honest it seemed like it was alright. Did get a loss of libido and the occasional headache but other than that I felt it was fine. Although I have been trying different contraception and have recently gone back onto mercellion. Turns out it’s not as good as I thought. My moods are not good. I have a short temper on these and my anxiety is through the roof. It’s only when you come off something and come back a year later that actually you can tell a difference.

I only used it for a month but I had the worst itching and pain ever. it felt like I had thrush constantly and the skin down there was very painful and irritated. I've had this side effect with every single pill I've tried but this one was by far the worst.

I started taking this pill when I was 20 first. I had no issues with it for a years when I started to have migraines and realised that it's because of the pill so I stopped. Tried various pills and methods after it which did not work out for me so I came back to Mercilon 6 months ago by the age of 27. Unfortunately this time I had bad side effects from the start. First month I bled for 3 weeks pretty heavy, then my periods became lighter, however my sex drive is very low, vagina very dry and lost half of my hair... I am thinking to switch to a non hormonal method now...

Didn’t have too many side effects from this pill other than complete loss of sex drive and a bit of weight gain/appetite increase. Lightened periods and reduced cramps and bloating. But Increased spots on face and body.

Taken for a few months however my sex drive and mood plummeted, making me feel awful for the months I was taking it. Stopped taking and it all returned back to normal.

I've had very minimal problems using this pill other than loss of sex drive (kind of what I started taking it for lol). Honestly though, it's been really easy sailing with this pill, lighter periods, helped my acne, no crazy side effects. It has a low dose of oestrogen so I think that helps. I will be switching back to this one once I'm finished with my new one.

I took this pill for two months, however, due to the bad skin eruption I had as a side effect, I decided to change it. My acne worsened within a week of starting taking this pill. I did not experience any other issue, other than some spotting in between periods and a couple of episodes of migraine during the pill break. Having PCOS and already acne-prone skin, I have been advised to swap from a pill containing Desogestrel to one with drospirenone.

Switched from Microgynon, took Mercilon for 2 months. After I switched, I got a yeast infection (that I treated with Canesten). I continued to have headaches on pill-free days. Once in a while, my anxiety got worse, I had off days. One time I thought I was having heart issues and I got an anxiety attack over it, called NHS, they told me to go to A&E. Turned out to be a strained sternum in the end but the anxiety I have been feeling the last 3-4 months after switching diff pill brands is not me. Decided to just go off the pill completely and seek non-hormonal birth control method. I was put on this for PCOS management, but it's just a bandaid and to be honest, the lower libido is not worth it for me either as I usually had high libido before. Going to try to be more in tune with my body.

Every month, I had terrible migraine and nausea 1-2 days before the onset of period. I gained 22 pounds without changing my eating and exercise habits. I had heart palpitations every day, especially 2-3 hours before it was time to take the pill.
Very positive mood
