Portia birth control pill vs Loryna birth control pill

I felt hungry all the time, gained weight (15 lbs over the 3 months I was on it), and had extremely elevated blood pressure which was not common for me — it was 140/96 at the highest, from the time I woke up to bed time. I had anxiety, high heart rate, and night terrors, again very uncommon for me.

I started taking this bc I have PMDD and also wanted to stop my period all together. I have no interest in getting pregnant. This pill was to stop my period and it did just that. I feel great on it.

Began experiencing yeast infections almost immediately after beginning medications, even though I’ve had zero history of yeast infections in the past. Also experienced increase vaginal dryness with painful intercourse. Last but not least, I feel like my depression has been worse.

The only negative is loss of sex drive, other than that it has helped my mood

This birth control made me have headaches, nausea, and very decreased sex drive, will be switching back to sprintec.

I went on Loryna initially as a generic form of Yaz for my PMDD symptoms. I would bounce daily from full on rage to the deepest depression within a few minutes before being on these meds. Now everything is much more even and I feel that I can actually function in my day to day life. However, I have noticed that it has completely erased my sex drive to the point where I have to psych myself up for sex with my partner starting at least a day in advance to even feel a bit of desire. Before Loryna, I would be ready to go at the drop of a hat. I also have experienced a pretty significant increase in dryness, which I never had a problem with before, and I do not believe that age should be a factor in this just yet.
