Tri Lo Estarylla has varying amounts of progestin throughout the packet which tries to mimic a natural menstrual cycle more closely than other pills. This can help some women with side effects, but may also make you feel more emotional at different parts of the packet. The estrogen stays constant at a medium level which may reduce side effects like breats tenderness or bloating. It comes in a 28 day packet with 7 placebo pills. You may have a withdrawal bleed during the placebo pill week.

Tri Lo Estarylla birth control pill FAQs

Tri Sprintec has a higher level of estrogen than Tri Lo Estarylla. If you have side effects caused by estrogen such a nausea, breast tenderness or bloating, then switching to Tri Lo Estarylla may help. Is Tri Lo Estarylla good for acne

There's no clear evidence that taking Tri Lo Estarylla will affect your weight. Weight gain, and loss, can be impacted by a number of factors that may be related to hormones and your menstrual cycle, like water retention, but more research needs to be done on this. Make sure to take a look at our users' reviews to see how our community reports Tri Lo Estarylla affects their weight. You can also take a look at our guide to birth control and weight to find out more.

There's no conclusive evidence to suggest that Tri Lo Estarylla causes depression or mood swings, but for some women, hormonal birth control may cause emotional side effects. You can find out more by checking out the reviews users of Tri Lo Estarylla have left at The Lowdown to see what changes they experienced to their mood. You can also find out more information on this topic in our guide to birth control and mood.

Yes you can! You can ignore the placebo pills in the Tri Lo Estarylla birth control pill (and other similar combination pills) and just keep taking the active pills without a break. This means that you can avoid having a withdrawal bleed, but you may experience some spotting or breakthrough bleeding as you adjust to the new routine. Taking your pill like this also means your pill may be more effective and you may have fewer side effects like withdrawal headaches. Find out more in our guide to continuous pill taking.

Traditionally, combination pills such as Tri Lo Estarylla contain 21 active pills followed by 7 placebo (without hormones) pills during which you may have a withdrawal bleed like a period. Some people may experience very light bleeding or no bleeding at all during the break. If you ignore the placebo pills and go straight into a new packet of active pills, it is also possible to avoid having a bleed altogether. If you experience a change in bleeding pattern whilst taking the combination pill and may be at risk of pregnancy, you should take a pregnancy test.

Tri Lo Estarylla is a combination pill that is taken daily to prevent pregnancy. It makes the fluid in your cervix thicker (which makes it more difficult for sperm to enter the womb) whilst also stopping ovulation. The combined birth control pill also prevents the lining of your womb from thickening enough for a fertilised egg to implant into it. There are a few things that can stop the combination pill from working properly including vomiting, some antibiotics, or missing pills. Take a look at our complete guide to the combination pill to find out more.

You should take the Tri Lo Estarylla pill around the same time every day. We recommend keeping your pill packet somewhere you look at everyday (like next to your toothbrush) to remind you to take it, or set an alarm on your phone. Tri Lo Estarylla comes in packets of 21 active pills containing hormones followed by 7 inactive pills without hormones during which you'll experience a withdrawal bleed (like a period). If you want to skip bleeds for a holiday or just because...you can choose to shorten the days you take the inactive pills or miss it out altogether to prevent a bleed (check out our blog on taking your pill back to back). It's easiest to start your pill on a Sunday to keep track of the pills in the packet. If this is in the first 5 days of your period, you're protected from pregnancy straight away. Otherwise you need to make sure you use condoms or avoid sex for 7 days after starting the pill before you are protected. Coming off Tri Lo Estarylla is easy - you just stop taking it. When you do this you’re no longer protected from pregnancy. If you want to stop the pill but do not wish to become pregnant then you should complete your current packet before stopping and consider switching to another form of contraception before you stop taking your pill. If you have unprotected sex and stop your pill before the packet is finished you may ovulate (release an egg from the ovary) and could become pregnant. Read our complete guide to coming off the pill.
