Depo-Provera shot

 Once I stopped things started to feel normal. Then each year something new happened. I developed pmdd which are the same symptoms I experienced during the year of being on birth control, but worst. It’s like the symptoms started to come back gradually and then boom, I’m getting diagnosed with pmdd by a gynecologist after having suicidal thoughts, extreme irritability, crying spells, etc. My body hair has been growing in thicker and longer. I’m getting hair in places I’ve never had hair. It’s currently getting worse. My face is starting to grow hair all over etc. I’ve developed many many moles and freckles in a short amount of time and it hasn’t stopped. It’s scary and heartbreaking. I’ve always been healthy and haven’t had even the slightest issue to be hospitalized besides giving birth to 1 child.

I became depressed and experienced pregnancy symptoms. I had it for a year. Half way through that year is when I realized it was the birth control that was making me feel out of wack. I had a horrible reaction receiving last shot and that was it. I continued using it because I thought my body was suppose to get use to it. I’ve changed a lot since then and not in a positive way.

The shot has worked wonders as far as no longer getting the monthly, but I do feel as my cramps have progressed

I felt better in two weeks after not getting my injection that had been due. I felt less bloated, less hungry, and had way less brain fog than I usually did.

I think this is a great birth control method if you have absolutely 0 other options, but it DESTROYED my sex drive and made sex painful because I was no longer getting as much lubrication as I used to. I also gained a good bit of weight and retained a lot of water.
