Skyla IUD has an average rating of 2.5 out of 5 stars from a total of 2 reviews when used as a contraceptive. These are self-reported reviews where users of Skyla IUD review their satisfaction with this contraceptive and any side effects they feel they experienced whilst using.
Skyla is a hormonal coil that is much smaller than the Mirena and releases less progestin meaning it could have fewer side effects. It may be more comfortable to fit than the Mirena but the downside is that Skyla may not control heavy bleeding as well as the Mirena. Skyla is effective as birth control for up to 3 years.

Skyla IUD

Overall I really disliked this IUD. The insertion was extremely painful. I experienced spotting everyday for 6 months. When I started to get monthly bleeding again I would get debilitating cramps that caused me to miss work and school.
