How to order the morning after pill from The Lowdown
Do I need the morning after pill?
The morning after pill is taken in the hours or days after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy. Sex counts as ‘unprotected’ if…
- You don’t use contraception
- Your contraception fails e.g. a broken condom
- Your contraception was not used correctly e.g. missing a pill (you can use our missed pill calculator to find out whether you need to use emergency contraception)
If any of these apply to you, you may need to use emergency contraception. The morning after pill should only be used for emergencies, not as a long term form of contraception as it’s not as reliable.
