This was the very first pill I used for amenorrhoea due to stress from uni and and being very athletic as it was popular when I started using the pill in my teens and I found it ok, however it made me gain a bit of weight which was not ideal. I think it was the water retention from the oestrogen side effect list. It wasn't that much (2-3 kg), but I preferred no weight gain at all so I stopped using this after about a year. The benefit of this pill was that my periods became regular and well controlled, they weren't lighter but they weren't heavier, just normal flow and very easy to predict as it always started bang on day 2 of the pill break. I never had any cramps or mood swings with it. The 7 day break was a bit long for me and I was paranoid about forgetting as it does not come with placebo pills to remind you or keep track, so I used to only have it for about 5 days and restart it straight after my period finished. Overall an ok pill, good for my skin and regulating periods but I preferred the lower dose versions Yaz/Eloine in terms of weight though
I used this pill after trying Yasmin and having some of the oestrogen side effects mainly water retention, so I was switched to this and it was much better in that I didn't have the water retention. I used this pill for a long time until I moved to the UK where it is unavailable, but I found this pill very good with no bothersome side effects. I was a bit irregular at taking it in that I would skip the break for few months here and there so I had issues with spotting and breakthrough bleeding. When I spoke to the GP about it she said to either take it with continuously, or with a break every month or every 3 months rather than randomly after packets, so once I started to have a regular pattern of 3 monthly breaks the spotting stopped. It improved my skin, I had decreased body hair and could go much longer without waxing which were the main benefits being an anti-androgenic pill and I liked the packaging and stickers for the days. Also, placebo pills rather than just no pills for the pill break made it so much easier to not forget to restart it, and the shorter 4 day gap was much better than the 7 day one for me in terms of having shorter bleeds. I liked this pill most for the significant improvement in my skin, no weight gain (important for me as that it a dealbreaker), no bothersome side effects and less worry with the lower oestrogen dose. I recommend this pill to any acne sufferers out there.
I used to be on Yaz when I lived in Ireland however that was not available in the UK so I was given this, which is apparently the same pill by the same company with just a different name and packaging. I've been on it 4 years now and no adverse side effects at all, I don't notice that I am on it. I used to get acne as a teenager but this pill has made me never get any breakouts at all, my skin is really good which is the main reason I like this pill a lot and will continue to use it. I take it continuously so I don't get the bleeds, but when I used to have the break it was just very light spotting, barely a period if you could call it that. I only needed to use very light pantyliners. I had some spotting when I started initially for about 2 months when I started taking it continuously but that completely stopped after that and I never have any bleeding issues. I have not had any issues with weight gain or headaches or mood etc. The only effect that I did notice is that I have barely any libido at all. This does not bother me personally, buy for those considering this pill it would be something to think about if considering this pill. The big benefit for for was clear glowing skin, it's better than harsh acne treatments like Roaccutane without all the peeling and dryness. I would highly recommend this pill for anyone who wants contraception that also tackles acne at a lower oestrogen dose and a shorter 4 day pill break rather than 7 days.
