Have been using Natural Cycles for a year now as a birth control after nearly 20 years on hormonal contraceptives and wish I had discovered it sooner. I would never return to using hormonal contraceptives now. I have learnt so much about my body and I would definitely recommend taking the time to learn about cycles to fully understand what is going on and not solely rely on the app. You may need to have patience at the beginning especially if coming off a hormonal contraceptive as the app will give you more "red days" until it gets to know you and your cycle. You just need to ensure you take your temperature most mornings before getting up after around 4 hours of sleep and either abstain or use other methods of contraception during red days.

Was on depo for about 3 years following being on the combined pill for 15 years. The doctor would no longer prescribe the injection to me as they said I'd need a break. I had no periods while taking the injection, which was great! Also, no other side effects except no sex drive.

Was on the combined pill (Ovranette and Microgynon) for about 15 years and didn't have any major side effects while using it. Occasionally experienced migraines while on the week's break. No sex drive. Loved being able to take the packets back to back to avoid having a breakthrough bleed. Unfortunately for the last year of taking it I started getting regular spotting/bleeding and after numerous investigations with no results, was recommended to stop taking the pill which I did and moved onto other methods of contraception.
