The first year i had the implant, it was amazing; i had no periods or any side effects. But the second year, it was awful; i had periods every other week which were heavy, super painful with awful spots associated, awful cramps and backache, headaches, very emotionally unstable, more anxious... it was not a good experience and i don’t recommend

my periods went back to monthly cycles straight away, they're lighter, more manageable and generally less painful (still painful, but that's normal for me). i had headaches for a week or two after getting it out due to hormone changes, but they're very infrequent now. also considering getting the vaginal ring now.
