Overall the nexplanon implant worked well for me, my painful periods stopped and I didn't need to worry about pregnancy. However side effects and long term effects weren't ever explained at the time of choosing this method. I feel like nexplanon contributed to a lot of the anxiety and depression and hormonal issues I have experienced. I am now learning what my body and mind are like without nexplanon and trying to heal myself.

Took 9 months for me to get my period back. But since it's returned my cycles have been pretty regular. Those 9 months were tough, my hormones were all over the place while they balanced out. I had bad headaches, mood swings, anxiety and depression. With my periods returning my body seems to have settled a bit and I am enjoying learning my cycles and educating myself.
