As soon as I started using this, I began bleeding and this continued almost without pause for the years I was on it, with the usual period pain and low mood. It was incredibly effective as birth control as I was incessantly bleeding, in pain and miserable so hardly able to have sex while on it. GP refused to remove it for years until a gynaecologist demanded she did as I had developed extreme vulval dermatitis due to hormonal changes. Took 4 years after removal for periods to return to normal. Having this put in is probably my biggest regret and almost destroyed my marriage.
