I decided to take the combination pill to prevent pregnancy. I took it for 18 months, and when I started for the first month I spotted the whole month. I also experienced vast mood swings from super happy to quickly angered and uncontrollable sadness. I also gained 15 pounds during my time on the pill.

I’ve been off the pill for 25 days. I have ovulated and I’m waiting for my period to return. I’ve started using Natural Family Planning/FAM to prevent pregnancy. I’ve not had adverse side effects from coming off the pill. If anything, I am relieved to not be taking it anymore. I feel less swollen, puffy, and I don’t have a bloated belly anymore!
