I turned to this option after being told the hormone dose would be more localised to my womb. Despite this, I had nothing but awful experiences. I started growing thick black hairs around my chin and neck, I gained a lot of weight, I developed cystic acne on my face (I had to get professional treatment for this- I never had acne before this coil). I seemed to have thrush every other week ! My symptoms got so bad, doctors believed I had PCOS- it turns out I do not, it was just the coil reacting badly with my body, I had this removed after just over 2 years and changed to a progesterone only pill- I have since lost a lot of the weight I gained, my moods have settled down and my skin has improved. Everybody is different, but the excruciating and heavy periods amongst other side effects were just too much for me ! :(

My periods became much less painful and less heavy, a normal cycle for me became about 35 days, which still remains to this day (I had my coil removed just under a year ago) My skin has greatly improved, just some acne scarring left behind. Although I do still get thick dark hairs growing, this is settling down as well, the main difference for me is that I have been able to lose weight much more easily, it seemed impossible to lose whilst I had the Jaydess coil in my womb :( I'm generally much happier without it and I do not miss the regular thrush. I still suffer a lot if migraines but these are unrelated to my contraception- though they have slightly lessened since my coil came out :)
