Copper coil (IUD)
I do like being on the copper coil as I have 10 years of contraception I am in a long-term relationship so do not need to worry about STI's. the first year I was on the coil I would have such bad periods 7 days long, I would have painful lower back pain, cramping, feeling weak. I would lose a lot of blood about 30 ml a day or more. It was very uncomfortable and painful however after about 15 months it subsided and now I only get 1 or 2 days of pain and then the rest of my period is bearable however still 7 days. I used hot water bottle, Solphadeine (for pain) and Tranexamic acid (for heavy period). I do like this one though as there are no hormones so I do not get bad skin, gain/lose weight, have mood swings or lose sex drive.
