Copper coil (IUD)

The fitting of the coil felt a bit strange, and I was definitely tender for a day or two down there, but it calmed down very quickly. I had it done on my period. I had a tiny spot in my undies about 2 weeks later, but no other bleeding outside of my cycle. My first period after fitting was a bit heavier, and so I was trying to use my menstrual cup, and unfortunately managed to pull my IUD out. I think the strings got trapped between my fingers as I squeezed the cup to take it out. It didn't hurt, I could only feel a slight pinch, which told me that something happened. I would maybe advise against getting an IUD if you want to continue using a menstrual cup (which I wasn't willing to part with, as I fond it was my best friend for period worries).

I decided to try a different contraceptive method, but I may go back to the IUD at some point in my life.
