I was very nervous about having a coil fitted from stories I had heard but it was absolutely fine. They used a numbing spray and it wasn't at all painful and was over very quick. I have had very heavy periods since fitting which I hope will settle down over the next few months. I had some on and off, minor back and womb cramps since fitting that dont last long. I am v pleased with this method and love being hormone free. My sex drive had greatly increased (compared to the pill).
