Copper coil (IUD)
I had the copper coil fitted for 5 months. I didn't want hormonal contraception after past experience so this seemed like a great option bar the warnings of 'heavier' periods. I had extreme cramps on fitting, following which the bleeding started. I bled extremely heavily for 3 weeks of each month during the time I had this coil. This made me feel extremely low and had a negative effect on my sex life. I reached breaking point and switched to the low hormone coil Jaydess, which has also caused me continuous breakthrough bleeding. I'm yet to find something workable for me, though am about to try Kyleena.
