About the Lowdown

We’re building the ultimate research platform for women’s health. We want every woman, regardless of age or stage, to be able to come to our website and get medically credible answers to their health questions. And we want our corporate and business partners to be able to come to us to understand what women want for their health and from their healthcare.

What makes us truly unique is that we listen to women – as a team we strongly believe that understanding women’s experiences of healthcare is critical. We have collected thousands of experiences from women on different forms of contraception, HRT and women’s health conditions. We have also worked with a number of pharmaceutical and brand clients on research and insights projects. We are now looking for a Business Development and Research Manager to build our B2B pipeline and deliver our client projects.

About the role

We’re looking for a manager-level mixed-methods quant-leaning commercial research/insights professional with a focus on business development, client development and sales processes. You should be comfortable costing, conducting and delivering simple research projects, but you should love and get your energy from sales, business development, outreach and hustling to build pipelines and sell work. Ideally, you should also have a background or experience specifically in pharmaceutical or healthcare research and client management.

The ask will be to support the growth of our commercial business by building our pipeline of opportunities, proposal writing, ongoing client management, and delivery of projects.

Role & responsibilities

  • Creating a healthy pipeline proactively identifying opportunities to sell research and consulting services on women’s health to pharmaceutical, brand and corporate clients
  • Converting this pipeline into sales by writing proposals, and talking to clients, and supporting the founder Alice on sales calls, materials preparation, notes and research
  • Ongoing client management to turn single projects into long-term commercial relationships
  • Building the offer and internal capabilities by creating longer term replicable processes and norms
  • Owning and ensuring the timely and successful delivery of partner project work, either through your own analysis or managing external freelancers
  • Be the go to person for data at The Lowdown, and work with the whole business to deliver and ensure our unique insights are utilised across our content and product

About you

  • Experience in and enjoyment of sales and business development (essential)
  • Experience in pharmaceutical research or consultancy (highly desirable)
  • Experience with commercial research proposals, costing and delivery (desirable)
  • Experience with mixed methods research, quant-leaning (desirable)

  • A self starter, who is highly motivated
  • Highly organised, proactive and a planner
  • A good communicator with internal and external stakeholders
  • Someone who will get stuck in and get things done
  • Highly detail oriented
