Overall positive experience, felt really well and ended up using it for >10 years. Had to come off it as it had been a long time but i would have happily continued. No major side effects noticed.

I had the copper coil inserted 2 months ago and have had a very positive experience since. I was on the combined pill for two years which resulted in mood swings and a very low libido. I put off getting the copper coil as I had heard horror stories about the pain that could come with it, but I wish I'd done it sooner! The insertion pain lasted no more than ten seconds and was very much manageable. After that I had maybe 2-3 days of some cramping which I took painkiller for. Overall, I would recommend other women to not be put off by the bad experiences of others. Mine was a highly positive one and everyone has different experiences.

Switched to this after not liking the combined pill side effects. After a few months of using it and having very irregular periods I noticed my skin and hair became very oily, needing to be washed daily. My hair also became thinner. I decided to stop this pill and look for an alternative.

I really enjoyed the implant for the first 12 months, however after this I started to spot more and more and for longer periods. These were also accompanied with increased fatigue and pain. The breakout bleeding than got progressively worse until the end of the 3 year period. Otherwise little to no symptoms which was made the increasing spotting so much more annoying!

1 year + of heaviest periods and cramps covering 6 days. Most of my time complaining about the pain which led to moodiness. Had it removed after 2.5 years and now on a combined pill. Feeling much better. Good if you forget to take pills though

I have pmdd, I could not track my cycle with an iud fitted, it helped initially then made me so much worse. I seen 3 doctors who didn't help, I'm now treating holistically, tracking my cycle and tailoring my food, lifestyle, exercising to my cycle and Somatic healing.

I loved using Natural Cycles as it let my body just be itself. It was very effective for four and a half years…until I unexpectedly got pregnant! I will fully admit though we would occasionally take risks on early red days, and we know where we went wrong the month I became pregnant (travelling with time and environment changes led to confusing temperature readings coupled with not using enough caution). The only downsides of NC for me were needing to be on a predictable routine for morning thermometer readings (may be challenging for those travelling a lot or on shift work) and we had to use condoms or abstain during ovulation - which is of course the peak time for when you want some action! Overall though I would recommend it and will probably resume using it once our sleep schedule normalises with our beloved new baby. Having been on the pill and using a copper iud for years, it’s just hard to beat having zero side effects and letting your body do its own thing.

This was the first coil I had put in and the process itself was okay but felt very woozy and nearly fainted on the way home. Overall it was not a pleasant experience! I have since swapped to the copper coil and this process, whilst not fun, went a lot smoother! I had the hormonal coil removed primarily due to it's effect on my mood (feeling very low a lot of the time) and big drop in sex drive. It's worked very well for many of my friends but really just didn't suit me!

I wanted a long-term non-hormonal option and this works great. My first period after having it put in was a lot heavier than usual but it settled quickly back to pre-coil levels. I had concerns that using the copper coil with endometriosis might not be compatible. I do get more painful cramping during periods and around ovulation than pre-coil but it's still very manageable. Overall for me it's been by far the best of a bad bunch!
